Opalescent Glass Windows at Calvary United Methodist Church in Swainsboro, GA

     In 2007, Laws Stained Glass Studios installed opalescent glass windows at Calvary United Methodist Church in Swainsboro, GA.  Unfortunately, about 4 years later, the church had a fire and all the windows were destroyed.  In 2012, the church built a new sanctuary, and Laws supplied 20 new windows including a transom (72" wide x 12" high) and a round hand-stained pictorial window depicting Christ in the "Garden of Gethsemane."  The 18 sanctuary windows (39-1/2" wide x 75-1/2" high) each contained a 18" x 26" hand-stained medallion depicting a scene from the "Life of Christ" series and a memorial plate at the bottom.

     Along with the stained glass windows, Laws provided new white aluminum frames.  On the exterior, 1/4" Lucite acrylic was set in the frame to provide protective covering for the leaded windows.  The 4 foot round "Garden of Gethsemane" window was installed into a dark bronze aluminum frame with diffusion glass.  The contractor for the church provided the lighting for it.
