Stained Glass Windows at Itawamba Christian Church in Fulton, Mississippi

In 2007, Laws Stained Glass Studios installed (21) stained glass windows at the Itawamba Christian Church in Fulton, MS.  The fourteen sanctuary windows (size 32" wide x 116" high with a round top) were made of opalescent glass with a 16" x 22" hand-stained glass medallion with a scene from the "Life of Christ" series.  Four windows (size 20" wide x 116" high) were opalescent glass windows with no artwork.  The transom (size 61" wide x 38" high) had a ribbon with the church's name, and above it, another window (size 63" wide x 130" high with a round top) was made of opalescent glass with no artwork.  Laws also provided a hand-stained pictorial glass window for the baptistry area, which is artificially lit.  This window (size 69" wide x 64" high) depicts "John baptizing Christ."  It is behind the pulpit on a sliding track, which opens during a baptism.

All of the windows were set into the existing wood frame except the window above the transom.  The existing windows had double hung sashes with clear glass on the inside and thin Krinkle glass (a colored, but somewhat translucent fiberglass) on the outside.  Laws removed both the sashes and the Krinkle glass.  On the inside, Laws installed the opalescent glass windows.  On the outside, Laws installed 1/4" Lucite acrylic as the protective covering, and held it in place with two rows of 1/2" x 1/2" white aluminum stop.  For the window above the transom, Laws removed the existing frame, and installed a new white aluminum frame.  The opalescent glass window was set on the inside and the 1/4" Lucite acrylic was set on the outside.
