Stained Glass Windows at Bunker Hill Baptist Church in Columbia, Mississippi
In 2011, Bunker Hill Baptist Church in Columbia, MS built a new sanctuary. Laws Stained Glass Studios installed (9) stained glass windows for the new construction. The eight sanctuary windows (size 45" wide x 132" high with a round top) were made of opalescent glass with a 18" x 26" hand-stained glass medallion with a scene from the "Life of Christ" series. For the baptistry area, Laws provided an opalescent glass window (48" wide x 96" high with a round top) with a hand-stained glass cross.
All of the windows received dark bronze aluminum frames. Laws installed the aluminum frames into the rough opening or brick openings. On the inside, the leaded glass windows were installed and on the exterior, 1/4" Lucite acrylic was installed as the protective covering. The baptistry window is an interior window that was to be lighted by the contractor.
